Your interest in a local freelance camp has been outstanding – thank you for the support and suggestions you’ve provided so far. Skip to the bottom of the page if you’re interested in going to the 604FreelanceCamp in Vancouver on September 10.
I’d love to procrastinate a bit further – but it looks like there’s more than enough interest and available talent, so a Freelance Camp in Victoria is looking to be a necessity, not just a whim. Since Vancouver is holding their event in September, we should plan our event for October.
If you’re interested in volunteering to help coordinate this event, please send me a note to introduce yourself and us what your skills are so we can make sure you’re not wasting your time. (If you aren’t sure what FreelanceCamp is – please click here)
Here’s what we’re looking at:
A one day event, with 5-6 speakers presenting to ~50 of the talented freelancers (solopreneurs, wannabe freelancers, and anyone else interested in learning more about the work from home lifestyle)
Ticket price TBD, but we’d like to find sponsors for:
- lunch
- coffee
- after party
- prizes
- branding (freelance camp logo, social media presence/updates)
- venue (we have options, but nothing established yet)
- speakers (organizing/communicating)
- sponsors (lunch, coffee, beer, prizes)
- printed materials (program with ads for local businesses)
