I think it's got great potential, but exclusivity in the Kindle Select program has been worthwhile to me so far, so i have reenrolled for another 90 days. It's a bit easier to test the waters with Kindle, and use some of your free days to build your audience (but don't have all of your books free at the same time) and then maybe look at Smashwords after the 90days are up.
